Although homeopathy is a practice that is increasingly under attack in countries all over the world, some nations such as Germany, one of the largest markets for homeopathy, continue endorsing its use.
This is indicated by a survey published by the Federal Pharmaceutical Industry Association (BPI), according to which 70 percent of German patients are satisfied or very satisfied with the efficacy of homeopathy. The German population also tends to believe that health insurance companies should cover and reimburse homeopathic treatments.
“Homeopathy is a recognized and proven therapy for patients in Germany,” says the BPI in its press release. “Homeopathic medicines are a high priority for many patients,” says Norbert Gerbsch, its deputy director. “It should be recognized as an important complement to conventional medicine that Germans clearly want.”
